2001 Kiwi 23b, love the floor plan. It is so spacious and yet easy to tow.

Greg, it looks like your 2013 Ody has the same towing capacity as my 2003 Ody, of 3500 pounds. Do you feel your van is "just enough" to pull it, or are you more confident in where you tow? Do you tow it into any hilly/low-mountain terrain (like the Appalachians)?

sinclaj1, my Odyssey pulls pretty good but it's a little shy on power in fairly steep hills. I can usually maintain 55-60 mph in the hills but it takes about 4000 rpm and 3rd gear to do it. We've not been in any mountains yet and I am a little concerned about it. I am very thankful for the trailer brakes as they help a lot. I am overall happy with our setup but I would like to get a truck somewhere down the road before we do any mountains. I am able to run 65-70 mph running down the interstate most of the time. How does yours do overall?

We're in the same situation, Greg. While we can pull it, we are sticking to central Florida, **maybe** Jacksonville if I'm feeling more comfortable about it. Our van's at 200k miles, but it has a brand new Jasper tranny in it which has a cooler built in (the OEM one failed at 171k and was notorious for shredding itself).

We're looking at getting a 150/1500-level pickup in a few years once we've knocked down the principal on the camper a bit.

Congratulations, LBD!!! We bought our camper new in late August and have been out 5 times now as newbie campers. We are still learning but it gets better every time out. Make sure you have what you need for dumping tanks. We will have a portable tank for next year. Can't go more than a couple of days without dumping gray water tank. I bought 4, 5gal buckets with lids to use before I found out about the towable portable tanks. Also, if you camp in cooler weather where you'll be using furnace, I highly recommend bunk covers to prevent condensation inside the tent ends and to help with keeping it warmer inside. For extra storage we use the rear bunk and inexpensive storage tubs from Walmart. Every trip out we find there are more things we don't need to take. It's too easy to pack extra clothes that you really don't need. We take our 2 small dogs and I still haven't got the outside tie outs down pat yet. A lot is trial by error and listening to experts. We have found that other campers are very friendly and more than willing to share their experiences with you. Wishing you a great camping season next year and enjoy your Jayco! We absolutely love ours!

Had our preowned 2013 165rb about a month now. Been out every weekend. Its our first TT. The TV is a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Have no complaints about the TT, except for the small holding tanks. I know we will get used to their capacity soon though. Plan on getting a dump trolley soon.

For 1st time campers there sure is a steep learning curve. I agree on the small holding tanks. I ended up buying 4 five gallon buckets with lids to drain the tanks before I found out about te portable dumping carts. We camped 21 days since getting out first trailer near the end of August. We just about got things figured out now so we are looking forward to spring and camping as much as we can in 2015. We love our trailer and I sure hope you enjoy yours for many years into the future. Besides the holding tank size, our biggest issue is knowing how much provision and "stuff" to pack without taking too much.

Bought a previously owned 2001 Kiwi 17A back in May that had been sitting since 2006.
Had to re-seal the lap seals (slight water damage), put new tires on it and a few other things. It's a nice little camper. Haven't seen any others on the road out here in Calif. We discovered on our first camping trip without hookups that the black water tank is too small and have since purchased a portable dump tank for future use. So far we are really enjoying it.

2015 16xrb and love it. Great little camper. Its a lot like a Swiss army knife in that it packs a lot of function into a small package.
