Black tank rinse install
I'm having a black tank rinse system installed on my Jayco Swift 15rbh trailer. Do I still have to worry about keeping it closed and only empty it when 3/4 full or could I possibly now keep the black tank opened when camping at full hook up sites? What are the advantages now?
Thanks

Still need to keep it closed. The advantage is that when you dump, the tank rinse gets more of the "stuff" out of the tank. But it doesn't change the fact that you still need plenty of liquid built up to get the initial flush.

Also, when operating the black tank "flusher" make sure the black tank dump valve is "opened".

Leave your black tank valve open ONLY if you like giving your money to RV service shops..

When you leave the valve open there is no water sitting in the bottom of the tank....and then you start building a poop mountain. The outlet is on the edge of the tank and there is no way it will wash over to that hole. You will end up with toxic concrete mix in the bottom of your tank. Best way is top off tank once a week then pull the lever. Most will wash out then, then back flush. After finished close up valve, add some chem and water...repeat weekly.
The more liquid there is in the tank the better.

I think since they only have a 9 gallon tank they were hoping to avoid dumping so often. But as has been said keep it closed and lots of water.

OK I was thinking of putting one of these on my 154BH. Where is the best place to install? I was thinking the end opposite the valve but I'm sure. Any suggestions?

I'm having the dealer I bought my TT from do the install. I should get it back by Friday. When finished I will take some photos and post it in this thread so you can see. I will put several photos so you can get a good look from every angle. Good luck!

I install the camco tornado flush on our 185rb swift. same tank as the 154. Took 30 minutes. I installed it on the opposite side of the drain. works well.

I keep the valve closed while flushing and just keep an eye on the tank sensors.

Just got my TT back from the dealer. I made two upgrades. I had them install the black tank rinse and two front jack stabilizers. Attached are photos...

Does that kink in the hose right by the tank inhibit flow? It looks like you could screw on an elbow so the hose doesn't have to make such a severe turn causing that kink...

Didn't trouble shoot it when i picked it up unfortunately. I figured it was done by professionals and should work. But, I'm worried about that kink too. It looks like because of such a severe turn it may inhibit or slow down the flow. Should have done it at the dealer when I was checking out
The good thing is the dealer is located 5 min from my house and If it doesn't work properly I will be calling them. I'm trouble shooting it this weekend and will let you know. With part and labor it was about $150 total.

I just installed one in my black tank and here is the link to it. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...nnection/28091
I installed it myself in about 20 minutes and it worked great the first time I used it. There is a YouTube video that shows how and where to install it. Best thing I've added to the trailer.
