New guy here. New travel trailer on the way

I had ordered a 28bhbe 2015. It's still on the assembly line. Mid September I should have it. It's got the Elite package, Thermal package. Any suggestions would be great. I have a small list of things I will need. This is my first camper. I had a pos popup. Any info on the stereo? Watt? Sound quality?

We have a 2013 28BHBE, aluminum siding. It has the Elite and Technology packages. Ours has a Jensen AWM965 stereo, but they may have changed that. It sounds pretty good, the specs say it is 6Wx8. Don't think you need a lot of watts for it to sound good.

Here is a link to the Jensen product page and a pic of ours-

Welcome to the JOF!

I believe Jayco switched from Jensen to iRV brand stereos in late 2013 so 2014 and newer models will have them. The iRV brand seems to be another mediocre stereo made overseas with mixed reviews here and on the Forest River site. Jayco also puts some pretty generic paper cone speakers in the units so don't expect much there. I replaced my speakers the year we bought it after finding one of them had a torn cone.

Seriously? You're interested in the sound system? Turn it off, listen to the sounds of the outdoors. Birds, animals, the fire crackling, loons calling, the wind in the trees, kids playing (away from their devices). They are all in surround sound 5.1 stereo, the sweetest noise you will hear. The absolute worst sound in a campground is someone's stereo.

I don't use most of the electrical stuff in my trailer but I use the radio daily to listen to the Tiger's games. Everyone uses their trailer in different ways. Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum.

We all use our rigs the way that gives us the best time. The stock speakers have to go if you're a sound buff.

I'm not a sound buff but I do like to watch TV in the evenings. The surround speaker system from the radio is much better than the TV speaker. I have my TV piped in to the stereo speakers. Just don't forget to turn off the outside speakers! Ask me how I know this!

Congrats on your new Jayco. You are going to be very happy with a Jayco.

I have a 2015 Jayco Eagle 284BHBE on order as well, with mid-October delivery. This will be my 3rd Jayco.

I would go sirius with docking station. Or buy some wireless speakers and use your phone. I've got in my eagle tt a built in am,fm mp3 DVD CD player with outside speakers.

Mine's a 2014 with the Jensen.

Don't know or care what the speaker wattage is, the radio sounds fine, and the DVD player sounds good enough. Otherwise, I'd rather be outside doing something.

Really LOVE this trailer and the floor plan.

Mine is Jensen also but sirius is a good thought.

Welcome, As mentioned earlier The pre-delivery inspection is very important.. Make sure they explain all the systems and how they work on the TT, and make sure everything does work!! . When you get home, driveway camp or go to a CG close to home get a feel for the TT and see what items you might need to get. On our first trip out, we made a list of items to purchace for the TT.
