LP Gas Regulator

I apparently have a defective regulator on my propane tank. Do I need to match the original brand or just use another 2 stage of any brand? Also does anyone know what size fittings were used on the 2002 Eagle Summit?

All gas regulators are vented through a small hole somewhere in the body of the regulator. It allows the diaphragm inside to move under varying conditions and loads. Before you replace it, make sure insects did not block the vent.

Also verify the propane pigtail(s) aren't defective. They have a high flow shut off valve in them also and I had to replace both of mine a month or so ago. They must have a time clock in them because they both died at almost exactly the same time. They would not allow propane to flow. Two replacements were installed and all is back to normal.

How did you determine they were defective?

If propane won't flow through them they are defective. Before I would replace a regulator I would pick up a pigtail and replace it. If flow is restored get another pigtail for the other side and you are good. Make sure you do a leak check with soapy water after replacing the pigtail(s).

+1 for replacing the pigtails. I've already had one go bad on my 2014, and will probably replace the other this season. Jayco must use some crappy ones, the new one looks far superior to the one it replaced.
