As a kid we were camping at a permanent site in my aunt's camper, some animal made a nest in the furnaces exhaust and the camper caught on fire. Everything worked out ok and now we joke that insurance had to buy a new camper (as the one that burned down has seen its better days).

Man! That's horrible! I use to live not far from that very spot.

Glad no one was hurt, but it sure give new meaning to "campfire"!

I tell you what, its scary to see one of these RVs go up in flames. 15 years ago (give or take a couple) we were at Cedar Points campground when a motor home across the way caught fire. My buddy and a few other people from around the CG climbed up on the thing and poured coolers full of ice to try and put it out, while I ran to the CG office to get the CP fire department on the way. Who needed roller coasters that weekend! My adrenaline was pumping the whole time until the fire went out. You just never know when or if one of the propane tanks will let loose...

Actually that's not the scary part....Getting the bill from the City, County, and State for damages to the highway and surrounding area !!

Son knocked down traffic signal and city wanted over $20K to fix it.
