Winter Storage Checklist

Does anyone have a checklist of things to be done for winter storage?

Thanks!

I just purchased the Jay Flight 32BHDS and there are a variety of checklists at the back of the owners manual (section 14), including a prior to storage and during storage checklist. You may have the same, but if not, you may be able to download one from the Jayco website.

OK - just looked in the owner's manual and found the list.

(1) My trailer is longer than my driveway. Thus, a practical question - where do you go to wash your trailer? I know it will not fit in any of the car washes in town because it is too tall. Are there other choices?

(2) I did not see anything about slide maintenance in the winter storage checklist. The owner's manual says not to grease anything, and to check sealants like all the other parts of the trailer. What about the side gasket - does it need anything? What about roof?

Thanks!!

For the slide's guide, use a dry lubricant made for slides.

I use a UV protectant on the seals. For the slide gasket I use baby powder as a lubricant.

If you trailer is equipped with an outside shower don't forget to winterize it too. It is easy to forget that important component.

It just seems to me to be early to be thinking about winterizing. The best camping to me is in the fall...

It sure is. We just did a three nighter in beautiful weather and views. The Aspens are already turning a bit up north. But temps up here where we live were in the 26 - 28 degree range the two nights before we left. So now I'll winterize and store until leaving for AZ in a few weeks.

DW always leaves the fridge and freezer doors slightly open and puts an open box of baking soda in each one.

You might try to find a commercial vehicle/RV wash place. We have a "U-do" in town that has bays to fit transport trucks and RV/bus. Should be able to find a place like that hopefully?
