Dinette change...for the better!

In a quest to make a little more floor space on our pup, I was able to make a change in the dinette that gave us a bit more move-about-the-cabin room. And I discovered this by accident while working on other stuff.

The dinette is (was) a U-shaped 6 person bench design that made the table protrude past the seats making it necessary to slide the table to the side so you could squeeze past the counter to sit down or open the cooler door.

While working on the plumbing (the table and cushions were put aside), I noticed the single piece of wood that completed the 'U' part of the dinette seat could be easily removed. So I did. I then pushed the table all the way back- that created 6" more space for the table to slide inward (toward the dinette- away front the center of the camper). Now you can easily step past the edge of the table to sit down, the cooler door swings free, and we have a few extra inches to move around.

We lost 2 seats at the table leaving us with room for four (no big deal- there are only two of us), but we also lost 3 cushions that are no longer needed (less stuff to pack up).

And the best part is? My wife approved of the 'mod'. Anytime I come to her and say, "Hey honey- look what I did/found!", I'm usually met with a little resistance until I've proven my case.

It's funny to read how you are happy getting rid of 2 seats...we're trying to figure out a way to ADD 2 seats to ours! LOL! Lifetime personal size table and chairs fit just perfect on the end but would be nice to figure out a way for us to add an extension to our table that we could pull out when need.

Nothing wrong with just 4 seats. Good idea.
