Hot weather storage

We arrived at our Jayco 40 FER yesterday after it set in the hot Az. sun since April 20. Water was drained and the power unhooked.
THe rig was in perfect shape. No dust or dirt inside after the "haboobs" that come though here. The max temp inside during the summer was 116.9F.
No apparent damage to the rig.
The DISH sat. system was a big PITA to get it going again. A very nice man in the Philippines helped me over the phone. I could even understand him.
The only thing not working is the almost new Keurig coffee pot. I have all winter to get it going again.

Wow, I guess it is a whole new adventure having to worry about HOT weather!
Hope you get the Keurig going, or have another way to produce coffee, that is a must in my morning!

Do you drink Iced Coffee in Arizona? I'm just from Washington State and my limit of comfort is about 78deg.

That’s HOT! My parents have an old lady that lives behind them. She has a TT somewhere in Arizona. She was telling me that when she leaves in the spring she fills 5 gallon buckets full of water, and places from front to back of the TT (inside), she said that when she gets back in late fall they are all empty. She also stated everyone in that park does it, and swears by it. No clue if this really does any good, but it makes her happy. I would think it all the buckets would be dry within a month.

We leave out Bungalow for 4 months in Gold Canyon. We also leave 2-5 gallon buckets full of water with about a cap full of bleach. It is supposed to keep humidity in the trailer so the wood won't split. We also come back home about every month to check things out. When we do come home the temps in the trailer are right around 95 degrees.

I also leave three 5 gal. buckets of water inside. A neighbor keeps them filled. He says he has to refill them about 3 times in 6 months.
It does provide humidity in the rig.

Leave the sat receiver connected and Dish / Direct won't drop the receiver. They ping it from time to time and if no connection they block it on the computer. the other suggestion if you suspend your service during the off months, is to leave it connected [but powered off] and call them a couple weeks before you come down and ask them to reactivate it.

Dealing with Sat service is an art learned over trial and error with experience you'll find it easier. Assuming you have wifi at the rv site, try using their on line chat help line. Takes the understanding out of it and allows you to describe your problem and what you are wanting them to do. Have personally found it to be very effective.

On the other issues, I don't have any experience with the super hot issues but think you might want to reach out to the more experienced neighbors and follow their lead.

We left our trailer in Az last summer also. We had lots of water jugs and they still had several inches of water in them. Our trailer was just fine and the only problem seems to be the television. The only way the audio works is through the Jensen radio. I really doubt that our trailer will ever go back home.
