Who cares? Our first camper (soon to be replaced by a new Jayco) is a $4000 1998 22 foot long ugly camper. One of the first trips we took with it was to Florida. We hadn't planned ahead, only had the camper for 3 months. The only place we could find was a $130/night rv RESORT in Florida. We were surrounded by super expensive 5ers and class A's.
The only reason we got the spot was because it was too big for a class A or 5er. The only reason we could own a trailer and afford to go to Florida so young was because we had a cheap trailer.
I really don't care what any of them think. We had an amazing time visiting friends and family in Florida in February. That camper has served us very well for 4 years, allowing my bride and I (and eventually our daughter) to have lots of experiences that we otherwise never would have.
Enjoy your small camper and make the most out of it =)!
What's nicer about a smaller, pull behind type camper is that you have your vehicle with you to head out and explore other areas outside of the campground. Sure, the big rigs tow a vehicle as well, but we smaller owners don't have the expense of that!
I honestly don't even think about it...Too busy enjoying my time outdoors with the wife and kids...
+1, but I do like to walk around and look at all the different rigs in a park. Since I shopped for 2 years for my trailer, I have a pretty good idea what they cost. So when DW says things like "why didn't we get one like that?" I can respond with "well, because that one is 2x or 3x the price of ours! If we bought that one we couldn't afford to use it!"
Those that mind, don't matter...
