New owner from Michigan
Just bought a used jayco swift slx 165rb, happy to answer any questions about the tt for anyone that has them...
Been out a few times now and loving it. Holland State Park, PJ Hoffmaster and Wolverine campground. Hoping to get out a few more times this summer and atleast a couple of Apple and orchard trips this fall. Heading to Disney in February for 2 weeks so I will be looking for any tips for that trip.
We have three kids ages 4,2,1. They are loving it too. My oldest think camping means s'mores...she actually says she wants to go camping in the evenings when I am building a fire.
Attached is a picture from last week. It was just a short overnighter and the kids fell asleep before "camping" in the evening so we had s'mores for breakfast
Taken at Wolverine Campground (county park). Very nice campground on a good size lake. Very quiet on a weekday

Congratulations on the slx and welcome from a fellow Michigander; formerly from Grand Rapids - now "on the road"!

Fall camping in Michigan is about as good as life gets
We have reservations for Monday at holland state park. Looks like it is going to empty out tomorrow and we should just about have the place to ourselves

My wife and myself; oh and dog "Joy" are camping at Straits State Park in our recently acquired Jayco 33 foot camper. It's a virtual ghost town up here. We miss the kids on their bikes and all of the ruckus that comes with summer camping in Michigan. Now that we are retired, we thought it would be fun to camp in the off season. Sure is quiet around here......not too sure that I will ever get used to it. Our kids are all grown up but thankfully their first love is camping with friends and family.

It is different in the fall. We have three small kids so it's nice for us, the kids can run and play and make all the noise they want. Lots of open space for the kids to be kids
Spent a week in Lake Ann this summer staying with relatives. Intended to camp, but we lost a trailer bearing on the way up.

It's amazing how the parks clear out after Labor Day. I do enjoy the summer camping and CGs with kids having fun, but fall camping is my favorite. They sure seem to be two different activites. We are leaving for the UP next weeks for two weeks and I can't wait. Peace, quiet, seclusion, fishing, biking...Cannot wait! For as many times as I have driven by Straits, I have never been through it or camped there. Seems like a great location though. If you are looking for more people and whatnot in the fall, many campgrounds do get busier during their harvest festivals or Halloween weekends. Those are really neat and full of decorated trailers and kids trick or treating.. There are also several campgrounds that come alive for the fall color tours. Welcome to the forum!
