Transport portable waste tank

I just upgraded to a 42 gallon portable waste tank. Our TV is a SUV so storing it in the back isn't an option. I have 3 ways I can go.

1. Tie it down to the top of the SUV. (Really don't like that option).
2. Put in inside the TT (Ehh, I'll do it if I have to)
3. Attach to rear bumper.

My preference (I think) Is to attach it to the rear of the TT. Only problem is that I will have to do some bolting on of metal supports to hold it. The tank only weighs 40lbs so I don't see weight being an issue.

I guess my question is, how do you guys store your tote when traveling?

I wouldn't attach brackets. Just use ratchet straps to the spare tire. Will the tank fit in behind the spare some?

Take a look on GOOGLE SEARCH for "rv portable waste tank mount"

When it loads up select 'IMAGES'... Mouse click on the one that catches your eye...

A few photos there of what others have done...

I saw a pic on another forum of a carrier/mount someone made from a cheap lightweight handtruck that they took wheels off and mounted to bumper. didn't save the pic or link as I have a p/u and put my mine in back of truck if I won't have sewer connections.

I think I will re-create how the tire mount is made. Couple of large u-bolts and then bolt on a couple of wider L-brackets onto them. I feel confident that the bumper will hold the extra 45 lbs.

I'm starting to investigate ways of doing this as well. I read the post on another forum where the guy used an old hand dolly and I like that idea. I might try some variation of that. Tex, please post a pic of your finished product when you get her done.

We have the sliding rear tray to hold ours. That might be an option to add to the rear of your trailer as it mounts to the frame.http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/at...1&d=1409495362
