Jayco 23.5 RBS

Hello, first time poster, long time lurker. The Jayco 23.5 RBS is on our short list for our next RV. We have been using a Northern Lite truck camper for the last ten years with zero issues. But as we get older we would like to have a little more room for those rainy Alaskan camping trips. We dry camp 100% of the time and would like to get a small 5th wheel to stay in the state and BLM campgrounds here in Alaska. We like the size of the 23.5 RBS. A couple of questions for anyone who owns this model. 1) Can you access the bathroom with the slide closed? 2) Can you use the stove and refrigerator with the slide closed? 3) Has there been any long term problems having the stove and refrigerator on the slide. Such as wear and tear on the gas and electrical connections? We want to keep it as simple as possible. Thank you for your time.

The bathroom can not be accessed without having the slide out or at least part way out. Door swings into the living area and the slide wall will prevent the door from opening, the slide needs to be out about a foot or so to open the door. We have not had any problems with the stove or fridge being on the slide, but I wouldn't use the stove with out having the slide extended because it would be at an awkward angle. It only takes around 15 seconds to extend the slide so not really a big deal.

Thanks for the reply. During a long drive during bad weather the wife does like to stop for a nice lunch or dinner. So it's nice to know you can access the refrigerator with the slide closed. Has anyone had any problems with the slide? We would also like to install two 100 watt solar panels on the roof, is this doable with the construction methods used by Jayco? Thanks again, I will keep the questions coming as time goes on.
