If it is only 3 months old, have you checked with Jayco or the mattress manufacturer about a replacement?
Some members have had to stiffen the platform that supports the mattress. Have you looked at that?

same here. living in my trailer for 3 months and it has valleys on both sides with a mountain in the middle. Also you have to lift it up at least twice a week and let it air out since the wood and mattress collect moisutre underneath. Twice a week i prop it up with step stools, place a space heater under it and leave it on for about an hour till wood and bottom of mattress is dry. Otherwise you will get moldy mattress and wood rot, costing a few hundred to fix wood and replace mattress.

Ugh, I had never considered this!! Now I'm going to have to check under there.
We just put a 4" memory foam topper on the existing Denver mattress (which is about the worst excuse for a mattress IMO) and went on our merry way. I never considered the possibility of condensation down there.

Never thought about condensation under the bed. Learn something new about TT every day it seems like...

We bought our Precept July, 2014. Initially, thought the Denver was great, firm but comfortable. After (very) part time use, the valley in the middle is most evident. Really poor excuse for a sleeping surface.
Thanks to those who gave solutions and the info on possible moisture collection........

If you do a search on Denver Mattress you will get an ear full. I have many of the same complaints in my rigs mattress but don't know the make.
After 3 years and a foam topper we have lived with it but come replace time, I'll know what to avoid.

I've talked about this on other posts, but I'll be happy to suggest it again. The real problem isn't the mattress, it's the lack of support underneath it. My 2013 Eagle came with the "non pillow-top" Denver mattress. I bought a 3" memory foam topper, placed it on top of the mattress, and slept on it for a week. Hated it! After 3 nights, the "memory" wouldn't go away, and I had a valley where I'd slept.
At the suggestion of another poster on this sight, I put the mf topper underneath the Denver Mattress (like a box spring). What a huge difference! I also put a 1" corrugated foam mattress topper on top, but if you have the pillow-top version, so probably don't need that. After 6 months of full-timing, I still get the best night's sleep I've ever had! As long as you have the Denver Mattress, you might want to invest $70-$80 in a good mf topper (placed underneath the mattress), and see how you like it. That is, as opposed to investing $400-$1200 in a new mattress.

Thanks Brownie. I will try and put it on the bottom for a test but fail to see how a foam topper can correct the compacting of the mattress like a two rut dirt road.

Replacing the mattress is at the top of the list for this year. I was ready to replace it after a month last summer of being on the road. For a pillow top mattress it is a very poor one. It's my only complaint about our new 5er.

Our 18 R SB came with the Denver Mattress. It lasted for 2 (one week) camping trips before coming apart at the seams? It's being replaced now while under warranty. We didn't do anything to abuse it. Hope the replacement last longer than the original did! BY THE WAY we thought it slept pretty good although a good quality memory foam topper is going on it before we hit the road again.

Changing our mattress
We have a Jayflite Baha that came with a Denver mattress. We bot a super plush mattress pad for it and went on a 20 day trip. By the end of 10 days the mattress had two deep sags where we slept and felt like there was a 2x4 in the middle of the mattress. Personally, I would not recommend the standard Denver mattress. We will be replacing ours immediately. Since one of the main reasons for having a trailer is a place to sleep it makes sense to get the best you can for a mattress. Wish I had given it more consideration.

We haven't even slept in the new 38FDDS once yet and my new Brentwood memory gel mattress is scheduled to be delivered to the house today. We had one in our old trailer (wrong size for new rig) and loved it. This was on the 'must have' list once we ordered the new trailer. The wife suffers from RA and the Brentwood works great for her. I'm giving the brand new Denver mattress to a buddy of mine for his FW.

I put a 4 inch topper on the Denver " mattress " in our 222 Octane SL. The factory mattress, has about an inch of padding on top of the plywood, just awful! But with a 4 inch topper on top of a 1.5 inch topper, on top of the Denver junk, it's pretty doggone good!

Put the new Brentwood memory gel mattress in yesterday. Gave a away the brand new Denver. Never slept on. I can't believe they get around $500 for that Denver piece of junk online.
