Question Outdoor Shower

Okay, can anybody tell me how to access the outside shower without a key? When I bought this, they didn't have a key for any of the doors or hatches. They ordered the keys for the three main doors (Cabin door and two Maxi-stor doors for bunkhouse), and I'm going to pick up new locks for the cargo hatches up front. Just realized, while trying to figure out turn signal problem, that we don't have a key to the outdoor shower on the rear of the unit! My wife was really looking foward to this feature, and I don't wanna tear up the access door to get at the shower. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Guess I learned my lesson about buying a TT from a dealer who wasn't part of the Jayco network!:lightning:

On our Jayco (if I remember correctly), the same key fits all outer storage doors and its external shower door. And, there's only 6 (or so) different cut keys. With this in mind, perhaps it might be best to remove the lock from an existing door and take the lock to your RV dealer. Ask them to try many differert keys inside your provided lock. If one of their keys fit, you can use it to cut another. Then, dip that newly cut key in paint. Rust paint works best. When you want access to the external shower door, simply use that painted key.

If wondering, Jayco doesn't make the lock. They purchase off a market re-seller. Many RV makers buy "lots of locks" off the market re-seller. Thus, any RV dealer (even if they don't sell Jaycos) might have they key - that fits your provided lock. (assuming the same key fits in the external shower door as well).

Hope this helps...

Our keys for storage and shower are all keyed alike.

Just an additional comment... those buying new Jayco's should check the hose on that shower to see if it's crimped where it meets the tt. Ours was crimped so bad the water wouldn't flow. The dealer installed a 90 degree angle to attach the hose to and now the water flows well

My key for the outside storage compartments and the outside shower has worked in every trailer and 5th wheel I have tried no matter what the brand.
Unless your shower lock has been changed you should have no problem finding a key - just ask your neighbor in the campground.

Normally the key to the shower and storage doors is a CH751. Ask any RV dealer and he should have them in stock.

My front pass through storage compartment shares the same key as my outside shower. My rear large cargo door shares the same key as the one for my bathroom door.

I am like tafische on my 2011. A ch751 key opens the shower. I know from past experiences that this is a common key and you should be able to find one. If not at the dealer try any hardware or small engine store. A ch751 starts many small riding mowers. Hope that helps.
