Yes before my first trip. Dealer installed the hitch and i just wanted to know that i was at least within my maximun weight limits with a loaded setup. Plan on doing some fine adjustments this spring.

I've actually been to the CAT scales twice so far, soon to be there for the third time, hopefully with everything adjusted correctly. By the time we actually go somewhere, should be good to go.
Luckily we have one within 15mi of where we live.

Not yet. ... in the process of eliminating excess "things". After that, will try a different loading arrangement. Then, it's off to the scales.

Yes, the day after getting the trailer. It was mostly empty at the time though, so have to receive when loaded.

I'm taking mine to the DOG scale, they're bigger. Seriously though, since my TV is a 2012 F-250, I can't wait to test Fords 50% nomenclature on WDH to compare front GAWR. If I must, I guess I'll have to go to the lowly CAT scale instead. LOL

Modification to my vote. No, not yet.

No problems but I will get a weight before we go too far. Only 60 miles pulling this thing so far. Had to go to the DMV for a VIN inspection.

Weighted mine after about 6 months. No problems, just wanted to know - and I feel better about knowing.

I had to vote "No, but never had any issues or problems." I'm sure that I should do it, however, and that may happen this season. For my Michigan JOF friends, can anyone tell me where a CAT scale is, how long it should take, what it entails me doing, and how much it costs? I'm ignorant to such things, so can I assume that a CAT scale is different than a side-of-the-road weigh station that the tractor trailers use? Happy Camping!!

http://catscale.com/

Go to this website pm1stnau and they have a video of exactly how to use the scale and what they look like.

They also have a locator if you enter your zipcode.

Best regards,
Doug

I use the CAT Scale off US 23 @ exit 88 (Grand Blanc Rd.), this is before where the US 23/I-75 freeways merge. I have also used the CAT off I-94 @ exit 167, Dexter, just west of US 23.

Cost is about $9.00 for the first weigh, and about $2.00 each for each additional weigh. Takes about a 30 minutes to do all three separate weighs, the time consumption is unhitching/hitching so that you can weigh your TV without the TT.

What I have done in the past is drive to the CAT scale with just my TV (simulate loaded weight for camping) and weigh the TV. Then the next time I go camping with the loaded TT I will do the two remaining weighs (TV/TT WDH spring bars dis-engaged & hanging.., pull off scale-engaged spring bars, return to scale with TV/TT WDH spring bars engaged).

CAT scale how to: http://www.jaycoowners.com/showthrea...igh-Your-tt-tv

CAT Scale locations: http://catscale.com/

The objective is to have three (3) separate CAT scale weight certificates to work with.

Bob
