WARNING.... break away switches are a one use item... replace it now for safety
Well I had a little adventure now. I was doing some testing on my own electrical system to see how long batteries would last. Well I would just unplug the charger under the stove and check the battery display and it would fall fast with just a few lights. (Huh? Scratching head)
Well I went out to the battery boxes popped the covers and check the batteries and the voltage is low. But start checking the wiring and it was warm in one spot because a corroded factory crimp. So I replaced it and still getting a good arc when hooking up the main wire. (Huh? Scratching head)
Then I looked down and relized some how I got the break away cable caught under the jack and pulled the key out of the switch so my brakes have been on solid for about a week or so from when I moved it last to do some welding. So I freed the cable plugged the break away key back in and Bam! Batteries charged up and hold a good solid charge now.
Now I got to re-test...

From what I'm finding on that some have a test position with a red o-ring inside on the key that you expose to test. Some manufactures require full removal of the key for testing depends on the switch. Like over on the AirStream Forum they have to remove the key completely to test.
As over in several farm site I just wander through most just shove the key back in and go on with life.

Well I hitched up to move it again today to sanitize the fresh water system. Had to move it closer to the house so I could fill the fresh water tank. During this time I checked the operation of the brakes and and break-away switch everything working fine... Pull the break away key brakes are locked solid. Put the key back in brakes release.
Needless to say I'm learning quickly and getting the small things fixed and looking at spring coming soon.
Since the weather is mild here and above freezing we are considering a overnight trip locally...![]()
