    Default Black water holding tank

I noticed that after dumping my black water holding tank and checking the indicators inside that is indicates it to be full,,, in other words all the lights are on. What's up with that? it is a 2002 Designer 32RLTS
    Thanks

This happens all the time . There is toilet paper or other "debris" on the sensors sending a false reading to the indicator. Cleaning the tank may give temporary respite, but I find my black tank indicator to be pretty much worthless. I cleaned my tank and had it working again and after only one outing it was showing 2/3 full when empty. I just do not rely on it.

Thanks Crabman,,,, That is just about my feelings as well,,, I just thought if I could put something in the tank and clean it and make it work I would do so, since I have got it parked for a while at home. Thought it would be a good time to play with things a little

I replaced my probes with Horst Miraicle Probes in gray and black water tanks. Now my guages are reading reading correctly. Old probes get a build up of crud which is hard to remove. After replacing probes I keep my tanks well rinsed. I don't know how long they will work but easy to change. This vidieo explains it better than I can.

I have a 2001 designer and I worried about that same problem the 1st year I had it. I tried eveything to fix it. I have officialy given up. I never had it over full. I even ran a hose in the toilet and flushed the tank numorous times. Even when I know its empty it still reads 2 lights. Frustrating and a little scary, but I wouldn't worry about it.

When they get full it will bubble air back up in the bowl when you flush

When I changed my probes they had a crust on them that nothing was going to remove.
You could have wire brushed them but you can't reuse groments. They are easy to change and not that expencive. My underbelly is open so I had easy access to them. Took me aboue a half hr. to change black and gray probes. All lights work fine now.

I ran into the same problem (with all probes) less than 2 months after taking posession of our brand new 2011 365 BHS. Never put toliet paper in the black tank and always thoroughly flush my gray tanks. Wish there was an easy way to access the probes so I could check for a loose connection.

Gee I always thought that they put those monitors in at the factory just to give the guys something to do... they NEVER work... for the black tank I just look straight down and see the level.. for the gray once I am standing in shower water that wont drain its time to pull the plug......
