Big Chill in Washington

Tomorrow I'll be winterizing my trailer in preparation for the upcoming cold snap here in western Washington. I bought gallon jugs of drinking water, and will be filling up a pair of 7 gallon water cubes for other uses. It's going to be a fun experience!

Fun is when your hunting boots are frozen to the floor, 3 feet from the furnace, at -8*f, in a pop up, with 9" of fresh snow.

In my 15 years of living on the coast here I’ve never experienced a summer, fall & now winter like this one.

Here in Upstate NY we are having a reasonably normal winter - that is until yesterday when we got an inch or so snow (normal) then it turned to freezing rain (NOT normal( as it is doing as I type this. Sand/salt truck just went by. Some folks just wont get tp grandma's house today for Christmas festivities and dinner

Well, it's been nearly a week of living out of water jugs and pitchers, and dealing with about 8 inches of snowfall. My gutters were all filled to overflowing with ice, which kind of worried me, but yesterday it warmed up to just above freezing and I was able to clear all the gutters.

Sunday is supposed to get up into the 40's, and Monday too. I hit the road Monday to get to my next state park campground, about 60 miles away. I'll be glad when all this snow melts away. It's enjoyable for a while, but I'm sure getting tired of the cold, snowy conditions. And living with no running water.

Sounds like you’ll be traveling in snow till you get there being only 60 miles away. It’s going to take a good week to get rid of this stuff.
