How much water in fresh tank? City hookups fulltime

We are currently living in our travel trailer since we quickly sold our home and are looking for a place to live. We are connected to full hookups with city water. Therefore we don't use our fresh water tank. There is probably 8 gallons in it right now. How much water should I leave in the fresh water tank if any? What maintenance should I perform to ensure it stays clean? It seems to me that since I am not using that water that it could become stagnant in there.

I would sanatize that tank with bleach and then drain it and leave it empty. Then before you would use it again, go through the sanitizing process again.

I guess it depends on how chlorinated the water is that's already in there. Seems to me you've got a couple of good options:

1. Every now and then, refill and use the fresh tank as your water supply. keep the water fresh
2. As mentioned, sanitize then drain
3. Or drain now, then sanitize before start of next season
