Opinions on Cyrstal Lake Village, in Wauchula, FL

I know it's a longshot, but has anyone stayed at Crystal Lake Village in Wauchula, FL? Any review is welcome.

Also, any central Florida RV park south of Tampa you can recommend would be appreciated - pets (2 small dogs) must be allowed. There are several on my map program between Wauchula and Arcadia (Hwy 17). We wanted to stay at Torrey Oaks, but they won't allow a Class C on their property.

We are 1st year snowbirds trying to find our way. We prefer the west coast, but haven't closed our minds to the east side.

We would appreciate ANY Florida snowbird information / advice.

Thanks in advance.

When and how long are you wanting to stay? There are gazillions of parks but you have to plan ahead for long stays.

Hi norty, We're staying at Ft Myers KOA in December. Then we want to go inland for JAN-MAR to avoid the crowds.

We stayed in the LaBelle, Florida area ( East of Ft. Myers) and I can tell you- there were NO crowds there.
There's also a couple of resorts by Moore Haven, Florida....

Happy trails,

Good Luck if you are looking for state parks here in FL. We live here and getting reservations (about 11 months is the earliest you can get a reservation) is VERY difficult, as the snowbirds have most of them reserved. The farther south in FL the more difficult to get a location. We tried in the keys, (Long Key, Pine Key...) booked solid. Finally got a spot in the Naples area for a week. If you are going to a non -state park, expect to shell out some bucks, but that is the price you pay to spend time in the warmth of FL.
Enjoy
Don

Mustang65, We found out early in our planning that SP reservations are next to impossible to get. There is a large group of people who go from SP-to-SP to get through the season. It's something we might try after we gain a little snowbird experience. I don't mind the moving (probably prefer it) and at a SP you get a decent site.

Some of the non-state parks we looked at have very small sites, very close together. We made up a name for those places, but it's inappropriate for this forum - has to do with cockroaches.

Can you ride those things? Ah, never mind, I don't have a saddle anyway.

On the go. I have driven through that park it is nice. I have stayed at pioneer creek rv resort in Bowlingreen which is about 3 miles north of Wachula. It is a very nice park with lots to do. They seem to always have an open lot when ever I'm there. I usually go at Christmas.
