PPO Humana does anyone have this Health Insurance?

Have gone full time and loving it. We just received a letter from Humana wanting to verify our address. We picked Florida as our domicile and will be moving around come spring. When moving from state to state do you all let your Health Insurance know you are moving/temporary address?

Be careful…..some plans require you to live in one location....as some of those plans are location specific as to the benefits.

If you have FL as your domicile, make sure your coverage will extend to anywhere you travel. If not, you may be on the hook for any health care needs.....or a reduced amount payable.

Switch to "E" documents and no snail mail. This way you can keep up online with any plan changes, notifications and such, without being at the "domicile" to open a letter.

Don't try and snooker these companies.....they WILL find out where you are.

A auto insurance firm I used to have found out I was not living at the listed address on the policy (no clue how they figured this out) and that policy was unceremoniously canceled without fanfare.

Best bet is to call Humana and tell them although you "domicile" in FL, you do plan to travel from place to place at any given time and want to verify continuing coverage no matter where you are.

Rates vary by state, a PPO is not a good plan if you travel regularly. We have a Humana Plan that allows us to see any Dr and Hosp accepting Medicare anywhere in the country. 0 copays and deductibles. We never change our address, domicile is always FL.

We domicile in Florida with St Brendan’s and never change. Do you have an HMO with Humana?

Just says MEDICARE MES. Haven't paid anything out of pocket and I even had my back surgery done in IL and we live in FL.

Humana

You are the best. When we arrive in Lake Havasu for the winter I will make a change. Thank you.

Just remember this thread is almost 4 years old. With that said my policy had not changed in coverage, but be sure you check for the Dr's you intend to use when away from your home base.

Lot of research may be in order. Last info seen published last year all US companies will pay for emergency care in all states but Hawaii.

What Grumpy said, and they do track you in one fashion or another. Rates vary from one location to another (caused by repair costs and accident rates as well as medical claims) and they don't want to pay high repair/medical costs in Arizona because you said you lived in Florida and don't.

If I understand correctly, if one chooses a Medicare Advantage Plan, they can never go back to regular Medicare. This is important as many Advantage plans are for "in network" physicians and medical centers.

Best to have regular Medicare and a Plan C and D with care available anywhere.

Not entirely true (you can move during enrollment times) and I did a bunch of research before going with an advantage plan and am not sorry I did, BUT a PPO and not an HMO. I can go to any doctor, any specialist without a referral and a number of other perks. HMO will severely limit you.
