Snowbird looking for info on US 45 from Paducah to Mobile

We are wanting to try a more scenic route without traveling through Nashville, Birmingham, and Montgomery. This route was fine but I 65 had a horrible section between Birmingham and Montgomery that almost shook my fillings in my teeth loose last year. (We avoid Atlanta) Someone in the RV resort suggested US 45 as it is 4 lanes and they enjoyed that route the most. I was wondering if anyone else has traveled this route south? Any info on the road, how slow due to towns, and campgrounds would be appreciated. Thank you!

Lived in Mobile 45 years till 2019. Info about Hwy 45 being a 4 lane Hwy. is NOT correct! If you do not want to drive the interstate just take your time and stay alert.
