Wanting to plan first extended snowbird trip to AZ

I know you’re out there so I’m hoping you can make suggestions about good places to stay. Looking for a resort that has fewer park models than rvs with the hope there will be a slightly younger crowd. Anywhere from Phoenix to Tucson between January and April. When should reservations be made?
Any help is appreciated

You may already be too late.. many CG's there bookup a year or more in advance. Use google earth to check out campgrounds that you are considering, it will show park models as well as RV's

Boy that is a bucket load of campgrounds. There are thousands in the Phoenix metro area and I am sure Tucson has a bunch too. Some here may pop in with some specifics but I would start by Googling RV resorts either using Phoenix "metro" or individually using Mesa, Tempe, Apache Junction, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear and some of the other metro cities.

There are also a number of RV search engines that will help locate and give some feedback from users. As to younger crowd, I am not sure what you are looking for but that may be more difficult to sort out.
