We are at one of our membership campgrounds... Wilderness Lakes in Southern California. We had some warranty issues dealt with yesterday, then headed off for the CG with our older granddaughters! We so far have enjoyed miniture golf, line dancing, and then adult volleyball. The girls and us have biclycled more than 3 miles around the area here. We are having fun... unfortunately, Momma txt'ed (cell phone) that younger brother in diapers is missing the older kids.... *oh well*! He diaper trains then he gets to do the next Summer with us!!!!

I'm with you Bruce in that we stay home most holiday weekends. I've found over the years that staying in Camp Driveway (as Bruce says) lets us go when there are less people on the roads, etc. Guess that's one of the advantages of being retired, going when one wants that is.

For those on the road, be safe and when you return tell us about the family memories you built over the 4th.

Gonna fire up my home patio grill tomorrow and sear a couple of steaks to go with some watermelon, baked potatoes and home made apricot-peach ice cream. Not fightin' traffic or crowded campgrounds OR the Texas heat. (At home I can step into air-conditioned comfort while the steaks are cookin').

Wishing everyone a meaningful and safe celebration on our great nation's birthday!

Just returned from one my wifes favorite campgrounds called Rice Creek Chain of Lakes in Minnesota.
We had our 2 1/2 year old grandson with us. He is a bundle of fun to be with.
This is Austin on one of the slides in the campground:

We play horseshoes at most of the campgrounds we visit. So this year we decided that a plastic set of horseshoes would be a perfect fit for Austin to play with. The blue horseshoe above him is the first throw he made.

I have to post one of the JayFlight in the site:
