Oh, I never trailered to LI, but assume you do not have many choices other than 95 to George Washington Bridge onto the Cross Bronx Expressway and over the Throggs Neck Bridge if you do not want to go the long way around. If you have time to kill, then you can go over the Tappan Zee Bridge from 287 in NJ to 95S to the TNB. Depending on time going through, can hit traffic on any of the roads I mentioned, and unfortunately I have to travel on them daily. I can't recall if I ever trailered my TT on the Cross Bronx, as I try and avoid it at all cost, but I have with equipment trailers and can tell you it's not fun. There are some others on here from LI that can be more of help, so hopefully they read this and chime in. Good luck on your trip.

Long Islander here. We never ever take the BQE. Never....... If we are going upstate NY, we will take the the Throgs Neck Bridge up to the Cross Westchester Expy (I-287) to the Tappen Zee Bridge. If we are going to NJ or PA, we will take the TNB to the Cross Bronx Expy (I-95) to the GWB. Honestly, it is hit or miss. There will always be traffic and the road itself is not very good. You just can't be in a rush. The last 3 times we were fortunate with light traffic. Best times are middle of the night if you can plan it that way. Once you made to LI, the only highway you can take is I-495, the Long Island Expy. Where are you planning on going?
