Great place to eat there close by also called Cowboys On The River. Great restaurant there at the Marina also. We eat at both places every year when we go to Pigeon Forge.

The rates are 49-69 per night. And the bathhouse is setup as 4 or 5 rooms, each with its own toilet, shower and sink. I will try and get some pictures of that today.

My wife said the sunrise was absolutely beautiful this morning. I'll have to take her word for it. I slept in.

Thanks for posting! My wife and I visited Douglas Lake years ago. Beautiful place. The campground looks really inviting.

How long did it take you to get there from Salisbury? I assume you took I-40. The section going through the Cherokee National Forest looks intimidating. What was it like pulling your rig through there? I've wanted to plan a camping trip to the area for some time now.

We had no problem getting here. I40 all the way, just pushed the tow/haul button, and the truck had no problem. As a matter of fact, I never believed the tow/haul mode worked as good as I thought I could foot throttle it.

We went to Myrtle Beach last month, and did not use tow/haul mode, we averaged 9.2 mpg. Well I decided I was going to use the tow/haul mode, no matter what, and we averaged 11.25 mpg. I was astonished, never would I believe that would happen. The distance traveled was the same, about 180 miles. I am now a firm believer in pushing the button.

I'd have to drive an entire day just to get to I-40! LOL!

I looked at the map today, that park is 1100 miles from me, which translates to a minimum of two hard days of driving! Or 3 comfortable days... Maybe when I get the big truck in a couple years...

Would it make any of you guys feel better if I told you I live about 1.5 hrs from it. Haven't been there yet, but was told that the CG does not have many trees and therefore, not much if any shade at this time, so plan your trip in the spring or fall, otherwise you'll cook. It can be hot and humid in E TN during the summer.

We are on site #53. There are no trees around us, but the upper lot has some tall pine trees. If we come during the summer, we would probably get a site on the upper lot.

Last night here tonight, but already booked another week for next month. Can't wait.

Do any of the sites have lakefront access where you can leave your boat in the water by your site?

I don't remember them having that but the Marina is in plain sight from the campsites.
