Best Dump Stations

I was discussing dump station etiquette and I mentioned that speed of dumping is also a factor of the dump station. The best I remember was one in a Texas State Park which had a sewer hose, rinse hose with threads, and a couple 2x6 for an extra slope towards the drain.

We all know the bad ones. Tight turns, no water, etc.

Anyone else with a favorite dump station?

One of the best I have seen is the Wyoming welcome center on I-25 Colorado border. Easy in and out double lanes good slope and water for rinsing.

I have seen more bad dumping stations than good ones.

When we have stayed at private CGs. We have pulled into an empty pull through site and used its dump port verses standing in line to use the one everyone else wants.

What drives me nuts, MN state parks build their dump stations so you can pull in from either direction, and they look like you can dump two trailers at a time, but there is only one dump port

the old bait and switch. I can imagine the fun times when someone is patiently waiting behind someone and then someone else pulls in opposite.

I'm like Ralphie's father on Christmas Story when he changes the tire. I'm that way at the dump station..."Eight minutes, time me!"

For the past few years, New York State Parks have been upgrading their dump stations. The ones that I give honorable mention to is Green Lakes State Park near Syracuse, Letchworth State Park (Genesee River Gorge) and Wellesley Island State Park in the 1000 Islands Region.

Cedar Point State Park moved the dump station to the main roadway on the exit side, and put in two side by side. Straight shot through them on the way past the registration booth. That was part of the major park upgrade a few years ago.
