Big Sur in Large 5ver

Well, we just moved to CA from TX and we decided instead of buying a house, we're going to try full timing in a fifth wheel for a few years. We are a family of five with a little maltipoo. Anyway, we purchased a 2018 NorthPoint 377RLBH and we're looking forward to having a home that is mobile to explore the natural beauty of CA. I've been wanting to take the family down to Big Sur to check it out, but it seems most of the campgrounds in that area won't accept much over 20-30 ft, let alone something 42'. Curious if anyone has any experience camping in Big Sur in a large 5ver or MH? Appreciate your suggestions in advance!

On several occasions I've looked for CG to accept 32' without success. I've tent camped there in the past, but it's really not an RV friendly environment.

I'll be interested to see what other suggest.

I would also add that you need to be aware that the road is closed at Big Sur so check that out before you go. We recently did a tour for some out of state relatives and decided that we didn't want to take our 23' trailer on the current road. Your rig is going to have some challenges on some of the sharper turns. Google map it first and view from satellite view. Never want to discourage someone from an awesome destination.

I have a reservation at Kirk Creek for a couple days in a little over a month. Access looks to be OK from the north and not too many tight turns all the way down to Kirk Creek unless something has happened in the last two weeks. Kirk Creek states they accept 45'+ rigs. I guess we'll see how it goes cause we're committed!

I have a reservation at Plaskett in a couple of months. What is the dump station situation in the area?
