Campground Recommendations for NY state to New Hampshire

We are planning a trip to Watkins Glen, NY area and than to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Anybody have recommendations for campgrounds in NY, Vermont (approx mid way between NY & New Hampshire) and New Hampshire.

Many of us use the App called " Allstays " for most of their needs.
It's good to mention what type of trailer you have, length, time of year, length of stay, kids, what you like to do.

Check out Moose Hillock. We've toured their campground in Lake George and spoken to people who liked the NH campground. We will be staying in the NH campground this year for the first time.

Watkins Glenn State Park is very nice. There is alot to do in the area. We have stayed there a week at a time twice and never ran out of things to do.

In New Hampshire I am partial to the Twin Mountain KOA. Been going there every year for many years now. Located in the hamlet of Twin Mountain which is officially in the town of Carroll, NH. 15 minutes from the famous Mt. Washington Hotel, 30 minutes from the Mt. Washington Cog Railway. It's a little further to North Conway (sales tax-free shopping!), the Kancamagus Highway, Franconia Notch, and Pinkham Notch. Lots to do and see in the area, especially hiking.

If you go to Twin Mountain inquire if your unit will fit "on top". It is further from the road and more secluded IMHO. The owners also are enlarging the campground and installing a number of deluxe pull-thru sites and more cabins that will also be further from the road, scheduled to be complete by summer.

In NY I also very much like the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA. Lots to do and see in that area also. The Olympic venues are still there to tour and you can even take a summer bobsled ride! We have visited Lake Placid KOA numerous times and then take the ferry across Lake Champlain into Burlington, Vermont on our way to Twin Mountain.
