Vermajo Park but it is private and can be very expensive. Angel Fire\Enchanted Circle has some good trout fishing. I think Carson National Forest is not far off.
Like others have said, Northern New Mexico, southern Colorado are all beautiful.

I forgot Elephant Butte lake, I live there but don't go there. Neighbor got 30 crappie yesterday. They also hold a world class stripper & bass derby's here with all the TV guys competing.
