Cape Disappointment State Park, Wa
We just returned from our longest trip yet with our little 226, and man did we ever enjoy it. Cape Disappointment is on a little spit of land that juts out into the mouth of the Columbia River where it dumps in the Pacific ocean. Lewis and Clark spent several days there before crossing the river to build Fort Clatsop on the Oregon side of the river.
The park was very nice, each site had a respectable amount of privacy from its neighbors. The vegetation is a mix of marsh type grasses and pine trees. Being in the Pacific Northwest the weather was beautiful one day and damp and rainy the next which actually made the trip kind of fun. Watched several beautiful sunsets from the beach. The park had several good walking trails and an interpretive center dedicated to Lewis and Clark that was very interesting. There are also 2 light houses you can walk to.
Sorry no pictures, the camera was left home on the counter along with the cell phone charger. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and plan on returning to this state park.
Thanks,
Mark
