Charleston, SC - James Island County Park

Link to park website: https://www.ccprc.com/68/James-Island-County-Park

We are 3 miles from this park and camp there regularly. We also have a Gold Pass and visit there almost daily for biking riding, walking trails, water park and fishing dock, climbing wall, primitive campsite area and the off lease dog park.

We camp here usually the week between Christmas and New Years. They have a world class light show Nov - Dec. and it is extra special for those camping.
The CG is very nice and very full most of the time. Reservations can be made via telephone.

Full hookups, great wifi. No cable. Roomy sites and all paved roads.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. We love Charleston. Thought it might be a little cool or cold around the first of the year??

Sometime it gets down to mid 40's at night. We camp year round.

Make the reservations early. Nov-Dec are busy months.

I LOVE this park! We usually hit Charleston in February for a couple days on our way down to Florida. This is a nice, clean, large park with a TON of amenities. It is close to downtown Charleston with easy access to the city. Staff has always been amazing. Bath houses are clean. Large sites with lots of mature trees for shade.

Great park!!!

We are headed to Charleston and have reservations for a site at James Island County Park Campground very soon. It'll be our first time camping near Charleston. We will be coming off I95 south to get there. What is the best way to get there without actually going thru Charleston? We will be pulling a 28' TT. Any suggestions are most welcomed.

Just make reservations early as possible. They have a canoe/kayak festival mid April that fill the park up for a long weekend. Check the website for dates.
