Charlotte/Fort Mill KOA

Still in the planning stages of our Ft. Wilderness trip for next summer. We have done the PA to Fl run dozens of times and normally run I-77 to 26 to 95. Instead of driving strait through, we were thinking of stopping over somewhere near half way this time. Has anyone used the Charlotte/Fort Mill KOA on I-77? If so, is it suitable for a quick overnight stop? I'm looking for something easy in and out. Not very concerned with amenities since we will only be there to eat and sleep. Also, does the Valero connected to it sell diesel?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've stayed there two times and will do so again. Yes they have diesel but i unhook to get fuel there. That lot is not big rig friendly when it is full. There is also a Publix in walking distance.

I stayed there 3 years ago during two separate weeks while my wife and I were checking out the area as a relocation option. It is close to the I-77 exit and was clean and quiet. We did eventually relocate to the area and have talked to several other campers that have stated there since being in the area and sounds like it still is the same. It's the typical urban camping experience.

Thank you. We've never stayed in a campground in that area. But, we have stayed many times off of exit 18, Harris Pkw. usually at the Fairfield Inn there.

If you haven't done so, MAKE YOUR FT.WILDERNESS RESERVATIONS NOW!

Summers are very busy at The Fort and sites go quickly!

Thanks. We are waiting on my daughter's summer schedule. As soon as we get it, which should be Christmas at the latest, we will book. If we can't get in the campground, we will just stay at one of the resorts.

Good information. We are thinking of staying there when we visit the Billy Graham Library.

We have stayed there a few times. It is as stated and OK. Lots of full timers there but a quiet park considering it's location. I recall the Valero has diesel. It's pretty much very easy to find good diesel prices around there. Much cheaper in SC.
Another CG that is close is Ebenezer County park, just over the state line in Rock Hill, SC.
