Cherrystone Family Campground

We're planning a week long trip this summer and are thinking about Cherrystone in VA. Does anyone have recent experience there and if so, what did you think?
Thanks

we have been there about 5 times last year. we love it, very laid back. if your looking for a place to go and camp, this is it, there is nothing around there to do other than the campground, they have a waterpark for kids, and a good sized pool, plus an adult pool. I really like going there in the early summer and fall.

We love Cherrystone, Family has been going there for over 40 years! I have personally made there about 15 times, a week at a time. Fantastic staff, Views, Sunsets, Clean campground, large sites. It has it all! enjoy

It's ok I guess. We had a horrible experience there.

We stay away from holiday weekends, the golf carts get to be way too much during those holiday weekends. Other then that we enjoy Cherrystone. We use to go the week prior to and through Labor Day, Now we go more around the 20th or so of August for a week. Much quieter, and a tiny fraction of the Golf Carts.
