Looking for recommendations for a nice family campground. Just purchased a new TT and looking for a close spot to give her a shakedown run before we go for a weeklong trip to the Adirondacks in August. Swimming for the kids would be preferred. Thanks!

Try Lone Oaks. Understand it is in NW Connecticut and hear good things. Haven't been there yet but it's on the list.

We got a new Jayco TT this year too. We'll be going on our shake down trip soon also.

Congrats on your new acquisition and hope you have many years ahead of happy camping!

The family really likes Odetah camping resort in CT. If you have little kids leave the bikes at home. The hills are not easy. But they have a nice lake and nice pool. Clean campsite.

Historic Valley CG in North Adams Mass. is nice. Swimming for the kids with electric and water hookup.
They have canoe and rowboat rentals along with hiking trails.

Brattleboro North KOA is very fun for the family and has a pool and some very nice local swimming holes. Just ask for a site on the outer loop--I think they are the largest. Here is a review of the campground with photos. There is so much to do right around the campground.
