Deleware seashore State Park

Just curious if any one on here has been to Deleware Seashore State Park CG? My husband and I are going down early in May, this is only our 2 year camping and are pretty "green" when it comes to knowing where to go. We will be rolling down the highway in our 11 Melborne, and our co-pilot, Mackey the mini doxie!!
We know it isnt going to be warm enough to get in water, but we just want to get out in the fresh air.
Any info appreciated.

I've been to the beach at Delaware Seashore SP but, never camped there. However, I once tried to make a reservation and learned that you have to reserve long before the summer camping season begins.

I do know the sites are close and there are full hookup sites. However, Delaware Seashore SP and Cape Henlopen SP are the only campgrounds in the area that are "at the beach", although, I don't consider Cape Henlopen's beach area as being in walking distance from the campground. I haven't camped at Cape Henlopen since the 80's and back then they only had sites with water hookups available.

The majority of the sites at Asseteague SP campground are primative (no hookup). I looked at their campground map and saw only one loop has 30A electric sites.
