Dinkey Creek- Calif

Anyone here ever camped here? We have a week booked at the end of July.
So far all I've read about it is good. The only issue I have found so far is the nearest dump staion is kind of far from the CG.

Love Dinky Creek. Only ever tent camped their, my TT is a bit much for those loops.

Hopefully the snow melt will have subsided enough to swim in Honeymoon Pools.

Fishing was always really nice just down from the Bridge before the store and CG.

McKinley Grove is close by for a nice hike or picnic among some giant sequoias.

Your right about the dump station. Nearest I know is Camp Edison at Shaver Lake, ~20 miles but nearly and hour away towing on those roads. Probably worth just booking a night there, it would be nearly free considering just to use the dump station is $25 but free to campers. I guess they can charge what they want when they are the option in the central sierras.

Cressman's Market, just at the top of the 4-lane, makes some absolute world class pies, cookies and pastries. Worth the stop.

You will love it up there.

EDIT - depending on what your into, a week could be long. It's pretty remote. I would suggest at least considering 4 nights there and rest at Camp Edison. Shaver Lake is amazing too. Very swimable, boat rentals, decent little town. Our favorite is to sit all day on the shore swimming and kayaking while watching Bald Eagles and Ospray pluck trout out of the lake. From there range to Huntington Lake and a number of super easy hikes. Indian pools and Rancheria Falls for example. If you don't mind driving, Mono Hot Springs is a great way to spend some time as well.
