first trip of the year to Columbus OH

Spring has finally come to MN!!! It has been a very long winter this year. We are leaving on Wednesday for OH. We have reservations at Delaware State Park north of Columbus. It looked nice on the website and it was close to folks we are visiting. Has anyone stayed there? On our way home we are going to stop in Indianapolis to see a few sites. Can anyone recommend a campground near there? Thanks for any advice you can give.

We live close to this State Park it is very nice, You might want to check out Alum Creek State Park (ohio) it is closer to Columbus, shopping, the Zoo & Interstate 71 & 70, Sites are larger than Delaware. Both are nice parks, Enjoy your stay in the Buckeye State.

Re: first trip of the year to Columbus OH

We have camped at alum creek a few times and always been satisfied. Like the previous poster stated it is a very short drive to any resteraunt or shopping that you could want. They also just put in a Cabelas right down the road.

I will put my vote in for Alum Creek as well. We stay there every year for the 4th of July

Thanks for all the good advice from OH members. Unfortunately, we already made reservations at Delaware SP as it is really near the people we are visiting. We'll be sure and take a day trip to Alum Creek. K

Cross Creek is a nice private campground. Keep in mind most Ohio state parks do not have running water.
