In campground vs to event

That style of Shuttle I have seen in a few places, Hershey Park in PA has a similar bus that gets you from the Campground to the amusement park... And Disney transportation is world class. They have both buses and boats to get you from the Campground to the attractions.
What Fort Wilderness does differently is they have shuttle buses whose only job is to move you inside the campground. You can get a bus from just outside your "Loop" to either one of the two pools, the on site restraunts, the Circle D Ranch or to your off site transportation.
There are three buses in operation covering three different routes and they run somewhere in the range of 20 hours a day giving you access from 0600-0200. I don't think we ever waited more then 10 minutes for a bus during the 12 days we were there.

We are headed to FW today for a weekend stay. We will be in Loop 300, hopefully the rain will hold off..... We have always enjoyed the transportation at Disney, the boat rides are great, buses are OK, but they all beat parking and walking from the Zebra zone to the gate.

My first visit to the Fort is scheduled for arrival on 12-19 for a week. My daughter and her family (twin grandchildren) will be at an adjacent site for a week. We booked these reservations in December 2014 and it has been a LONG WAIT, but getting closer.

Well it is a wet Saturday morning here at FW. We checked in and got setup last night, the storms held off until about 7:30. Looks like rain later today again, but it is still nicer then being home with a list of things to do. So I guess I need a list for here.. Any suggestions? Right now I have coffee under the awning, maybe a visit to the Trading post for a muffin, take the dogs to the dog park... and see where it goes from there

If your not going to the Parks, sit on the porch at Trails End with a nice cup of coffee and people watch. Go over to the stables and see the horses and the original WDW Calliope. Take the bus (Yellow) over to Wilderness Lodge spend some time sitting in the lobby. Then walk down to the dock and take the boat back to the FORT. But whatever you do, enjoy.

Very nice! We reserved our spot for spring break about 2 weeks ago. I think deciding on which meal plan (or none) might be the most confusing thing about it

Darn Grumpy... you JUST had to mention Trails End! We always pig out on the all-you-can eat Bar-B-Q. There are days we don't even use the Park Hopper passes... just hang out around the Campground and relax!

Plan ahead. It is getting tougher and tougher to get a site last moment or even within a few weeks unless it is mid week.

Planning to visit FW on the way to the keys. Where is the best place to camp for a few days?

OK. So I'm obviously an idiot and didn't realize how time consuming WDW is. Wouldn't exactly call this a "vacation", but it is a wonderful experience for the kiddos! Nice CG so far. Looking forward to seeing more of it when we get an "off" day.
