It's definitely what you make it. You can run ragged doing parks from open to close or plan a balance of parks and other leisurely activities....

You can plan a balance that includes leisure activities?

We can't, being we have 9, 7, and 3 year old dictating the pace. Typically we don't let the kids run the show, but Disney trips are for them so my wife and I just fall in line.

Lol yes we do. We have 3 who are 10 years and younger. Did Ft Wilderness this past January for about 7 days. Only went to the parks 3 of those days. Kids were happy. But we have been 4 times over the last 5 years I believe so they've done it all. We usually do 7 days or more so that helps. The first couple years we would go to the parks every day but now we've done it so much everyone enjoys relaxing a little too...

We r going for six days over spring break and only plan on hitting 2-3 parks. Figure with water parks and the campground activities, hopefully that will be a good balance

Sounds like a good plan. My kids enjoyed the campground activities and it was very laid back. Not the rush and crowds like in the parks. At least when we were there in January.

I will be at FW for 7 days starting 12-19 with the family including 2 grandchildren (twins) who will turn 8 while we are there. They definitely will be running the show.

Received a notification this morning that our MagicBand's shipped yesterday.

Getting closer.

When we went last year it was the first time for any of us. Me, wife and two kids. We went pretty much none stop for eight days then relaxed on the ninth to get ready for the LONG ride home. We did four Disney parks a water park AND Sea world. And spent one day at Clear water beach. No doubt it was a very busy nine days but so much fun.

We went for ten days with the kids a few years ago. It was awesome! Got the parks pass for 7days and tried to chill out the other three. So much to do in FW it was great. It was a 1700 mile trip one way for us so we wanted to make sure we were there for a decent amount of time.

All 4 parks in the past 4 days. Taking tomorrow "off" to hang out in the CG and go to Disney Springs (apparently that's the new name of Downtown Disney). Decided to rent a golf cart for the next couple of nights. I think that made the kids happier than anything so far!

If somebody is looking for a premium site and values quiet and doesn't need to be on top of the amenities (getting a golf cart no mater what) which loop would you guys prefer? I'm the type that likes to leave the hoopla behind when I'm done experiencing it.

We stayed in the 300 loop in 2014. It was relatively quiet. After a day the park, head hit pillow and then it was morning.

The only advice I would have is to not be too close to a bus stop. The Disney buses make this beeping sound whenever they are stopped. These buses start running very early in the morning. So if you want quiet get in deep in the loop.
All of the sites are generally good, quiet, and relaxing. The only other issue we have ever had is getting our rig in to some of the spots. The roads have a lot of twists and bends and a TT at 31 feet can be a challenge at times. This is our issue, not Disney's.

I guess we'll see where they put me.

Now to my next conundrum. I'm planning my camping stop for the ride home. I can leave WDW on Saturday 4/15/17 (anytime b/c we're paid through Sunday) or on Sunday morning 4/16/17. That Sunday happens to be Easter.

Any travel tips for going North on I95 for my situation? Would I be better leaving at say 8PM on that Saturday or would leaving around 6AM on Easter Sunday be about the same? I'm obviously looking to avoid the traffic.

I could leave anywhere in between too, but I'm trying to be considerate to my fellow camping neighbors who would be sleeping as I turn over the E450 and make noise that early.

It's nice of you to consider others with your 6AM departure. I hope some day we are camped next to you.

Because you have a MH, starting the rig and driving off would be virtually the last thing you'd need to do. All the packing and disconnecting could be done before starting the engine. If you have a 'toad', there are areas outside the camping loops set aside for connecting and disconnecting those vehicles.

BTW, we are looking forward to our next WDW trip in (the fall?) 2017.

We r now in the 800 loop and they r alright but they r packed in tightly. We originally were bringing our dog but then decided not to, so they must have not changed our reservation to reflect no dog. Nice campground and very big obviously. I expected the pools to be bigger and the pads to be bigger (we r on a premium site...which I thought was the biggest they had?)

Anybody ever leave the fort in the wee hours of the morning (like 1AM)? I'm plotting my return trip, and it seems to me that it'd be easier for my situation to head out when the roads are empty and get to Fredericksburg VA w/ most of the Easter Sunday 2017 traffic in my rear view.

Is it common to see rigs pulling out at all hours of the night? I'd imagine so given all the places people come from, but I'm not sure.

Interesting idea as we r to leave the fort tomorrow morning to head back to Richmond. If I was in a motorhome I might seriously consider it

We leave shortly before checkout, but I've noticed many empty spots as we left.

Instead of paying for that last day and only using half if it you might be able to check out the day prior and boondock in the main parking lot untill you are ready to leave. I dont rember what the offical policy is but i did it for a few hours last year and headed over to Downtown disney for lunch. I remember seeing a few rvs set up with their slides out. Just might want to check with disney and ask for the offical policy first.

Thanks everybody. I actually changed my itinerary, I will be going down to the Fort for 12 nights and enjoying the 1st week of that the week prior to spring break. We'll head out and be home by Easter AM (early), thus eliminating my early Fort departure issues. Looks like I'll be heading off property at a more reasonable 6AM.
