Prefer it over Hoop Dee Doo Revue.
Excellent. Thanks

It's only at 5:30 PM from what I can tell. Does that sound correct? My girls love Hoop Dee so I assume that the will like this also. We may do both this year.

We're scheduled to do the show on Sunday, March 11th at 4 pm. That will be our arrival day, so we figured we'd be hungry and eat a little early that day.

Thanks. I'll have my wife confirm that when we make our reservations. I may have misread the site or they may change the time in the summer. Our dining reservation window doesn't open for a few more days.

We've been going to the fort for three years now. We didn't bring a golf cart the first time but rented one for the last two days. When I got back home I immediately went and bought one. Waiting for a bus to go take a bus chews up a lot of valuable park time. There's parking for the carts anywhere you go. Having the ability to get the kids ready, jump on the cart and get to the park bus stop in 5 minutes is great. We use it on all our trips. Packing to leave tonight for our fourth trip to the fort.

They require an electric cart correct?

I'm pretty sure they allow gas.

When we went a few years ago you were only allowed to bring in electric carts per the rules. However they don’t check and there were a few gas carts running around.

My current cart is electric but I’ve had a gas one too. I prefer electric...

I found this copy of Ft. Wilderness cart rules. I'm not sure if it is current or not however.

I ended up just calling and reserving a Disney rental cart. After talking it over with the girls, they all wanted to be able to travel within the campground quite a bit and it just makes sense to rent one.

I looked in to some if the 3rd party rental places that some of you suggested. I think they would be a great option, especially for a longer stay. But, the DW nixed the idea of renting from an outside vender since she thinks that it would be "too much hassle to deal with the logistics". For those of you who have been married more than 15 min like I have, you will understand that the few hundred saved would turn out to be very costly if I didn't listen to her on this.

Got these in the mail today! Big Thank You to the people of the JOF (especially Grumpy) for answering questions that I've had and just using the search function on here. This will be our 1st time at the Fort & the longest we've traveled yet.

It's always exciting when the Magic Band Box arrives.

That is an awesome link. Thanks!! We don't arrive until late summer so we have time to make one. One of my daughters just loves building things like that. I'll put her on the project.

Glad you liked it! I had someone ask me for a video of the Fort as well and I did this video of it if you find it helpful.

Called today and was told that all loops and cabins are now pet friendly. Still a charge, but no longer limited to certain loops. That opens more options up for me now.

Our g’son, son and DIL May arrive before us. The reservation is in my name. Will they have any issues getting in before we arrive?
The Bride and I visited FW a couple of years ago and I don’t remember stitch about the check-in procedure. Help this ole geezer out.

We just spent a week there. Our second time. Fort Wilderness is the single best place to camp we've ever been. I haven't read through this whole thread. But I'll tell you a few helpful things for us.

Definitely get a golf cart. Also, if you pick a loop you want, you can send a fax (look on fortfiends for the contents of the fax) a request for a certain loop and some other requests about 5 days before you arrive. I've done that both times and gotten exactly what I asked for both times.

Also, they say check in is at 3. But, because checkout is at 11, you can generally show up around noon and your site will be ready to go. So plan on showing up around lunch time.

If you are taking kids, definitely do the campfire movies at night. So much fun. But take your own smore stuff. You can buy a "kit" there. But, like everything else at DW, it's expensive.

The pool is awesome and DEFINITELY sign up for the Hoop Dee Doo Review. It is so much fun and the food is great and it's right there at the Fort.

We've done Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It's ok and worth doing. But I wouldn't pay for it again. It's not a must do like Hoop Dee Doo is.

All in all, I think Fort Wilderness helps me pay for the camper. I save a minimum of $2000 every time we stay there vs any other resort just about and it is by far the best place we've stayed at DW.
