Ticket prices went up for both parks (WDW & DL)as well as for annual passes. It is supposed to help control the crowds, but it's not working. Prices go up and the crowds get bigger. Saw an article today that there is really no "slow" time anymore.

There'd need to be a recession for the crowds to lessen. Right now everyone has jobs and many are taking out loans to go on this vacation. To me, if you need to take a loan to go to Disney, then you probably can't afford it.

We stayed in the Fort for the first time in 2014 (October I think) and paid $95/night. Ahhh, the good ‘ole days. Even at $200/night it’s still a better bargain than one of their resort properties especially if you need 2 rooms.

Especially since you can have 10 people per site.

But at end of day, you're paying for a concrete pad with hookups... bringing your own towels, cleaning your own toilets, etc.

Nevertheless, it's my preferred way to go to disney. We will be there in 3 weeks.

If they're factoring in 10 people per site as part of their pricing, I'd much rather they charge me for a base rate of 4 and make me pay extra for more people.

I'd also like to wake up a millionaire in a Tiffin, but it is what it is.

Been 10 per site as long as I can remember.

We went to Fort Wilderness from July 10-20. We enjoyed it so much, and I would love for us to go back, but it's just too expensive.
We spent $150 per night on a premium site. When you consider you bring your own "house" with you, it shouldn't cost so much. A room at the Pop Century would have cost around $280, and half the gas to get there and back.

We enjoyed it. It was the best Disney trip we've ever had, but we'll probably keep our trailer closer to home for future trips.

The Mouse knows what he’s doing. Everything is geared towards getting the $$$ out of your pocket and into his and he’s damn good at it. In return tho he gives you an awesome experience. I’ve stayed in a few of the resort properties and the Fort twice. I prefer the Fort hands down.

We had a blast this last week. Yes the mouse know how to extract that money from your wallet. however we would go back. This time we want to go back and have some down days at the fort to enjoy it a bit more than we did this trip.

Pop was around $180/night, not $280. I couldn't figure out how to edit.

Oh yeah, I agree. Our last trip was with our GS (his parents came too) and we stayed 10 days in the Fort and planned 2 down days and 2 days at Universal, the rest we gave to the Mouse. We are also fans of the delux dining plan, it’s pricey but we enjoy hitting more of the “fine dining” places and feel we get our $$$ worth. We also rented an off-property cart and found that a great and fun way to get around.

Just a quick update to this thread for those of you that may have upcoming reservations to Ft. Wilderness. We were scheduled to be at the Fort June 16th-27th 2020. With the current shutdown, we moved our reservation to the equivalent time in June 2021. They only have sites available at this point. You are unable to add any ticket or dining packages to the reservations at this time. That isn't surprising considering that we are over a year out from that specific reservation.

According to the operator I spoke with on the phone this morning, Disney is cancelling or rescheduling any reservation from now trough Jun 30, 2020 without any fee. Also, existing dining reservations can be cancelled on the My Disney Experience app without penalty for anytime through June 2020. If you have existing reservations that you don't cancel on your own, they will be refunded automatically if Disney isn't open by that time.

We are wondering if we’ll end up going on our trip November 1st of this year. Nobody has any idea what will be open or what the experience will be like. Its a lot of money for a lot of unknown. We can cancel 30 days out I believe b/c we have a package and not just the Fort.

We’re debating booking a backup trip for that week just in case. SunRV is allowing no cancellation fee through this year due to the pandemic. Seems like good insurance.

We changed our plans today since we now just hit our 30 day window. I didn't want to risk the money we have already paid. They do however have generous refund policies currently if that is what you choose to do. I just don't like leaving anything to chance, especially with what these vacations cost.

When you call, the Disney operators have no information to share beyond the end of June. Which, is completely understandable considering the current situation.

Our Fort reservations are for 1st week of Feb 2021. Hopefully all will be good by then. Disney Springs opening the 20th with restrictions.

The wife wants to go back. We got lucky this year with the Corona when we went in Feb. We do believe it was already there as the outbreak occurred very soon afterwards. We are just not sure if we want to book as people who are cancelling now may book around that time and it could be crowded even more.

Thanks Grumpy. That June 22nd date would have been 7 days in to my originally scheduled trip.

I have everything rescheduled or cancelled except for my golf cart rental. Their line is still playing a message stating that they are closed.

I’m really interested to start reading how the Disney experience will be changed with everything going on. I’m happy to hear the Fort is opening as we can start getting that type of information soon.
