God blessed Georgia!

I have lived here for 40 years now and it has sea coast, great forests, State Parks, one of the largest swamps in the nation near the Florida line and of course my beloved Blue Ridge Mountains in the north. Yes the summers are hot and sticky but when you can camp in early December with highs near sixty it darn sure makes it worth while.
Photos are from our first trip to River Vista in Dillard Georgia. We are going back New Years weekend for their New Years Eve bash.
We can't wait for when we upgrade the old tv so we can venture farther away to see more of the beauty this great country is blessed with!

PS. Anyone else have any holiday camping plans, if so please share!

My grandmother lived in the mountains of N Georgia. Beautiful country up there. I look forward to getting back there some day.

We are planning a trip to Georgia in May. We want to go to Tallulah Gorge, Helen and a day trip over to Cherokee in NC.

We have been to that area before when we had Motorcycles but this time we will be camping.

If you have any other suggestions we are all ears!

Our camping club camps all over Georgia, and don't have to leave the state since we have all these wonderful places to see. The Mountains and Coastline are all beautiful places to visit. They are also some wonderful Corps of Engineer Campgrounds in the valleys that have been damned up. Love the Blairsville, Hiawassee area and especial Bald Mountain campground and River's Edge Campground. If you have not visited the North Georgia Fall Mountain Festival, you are missing out! The Rhododendrons are just beautiful in the Fall.

What type's of activities do you enjoy? The area is a hiker or trout fishing dream. One thing immediately comes to mind. In the actual little town of Tallulah Falls from spring through fall on Saturday nights the locals gather at a small out door stage and pick Blue Grass and Country for a couple hours. It's free and very family friendly with marshmallow and hot dog roasting, sodas and coffee for whatever donation you feel is fair, it's a true Appalachian experience!
Having grown up in the Adirondacks I immediately fell in love with Rabun County, take the drive along Lake Rabun and you'll think your in Lake Placid NY.

I'm moving from Long Island to Peachtree City GA in 3 years. I cannot wait for the new adventures and extra long camping season in the great State of Georgia.

If your a native of the north you'll learn all the D*** Yankee jokes real fast, and that's a nice area also. By the way, there are like 32 streets in Atlanta that start with Peachtree!

I have 6 families of cousins that moved to PTC starting 25 years ago, all from the north. My cousins tell that approximately 75% of the residents of PTC are not native to Georgia, but from other parts of the country.

My wife said we still have to root for the NY Mets and Jets.

When NY teams come to town you'd think you were watching the game in NYC, like you said there are lots of us ex Yankees living here and plentiful tickets. I bet many Giants fans saw them for the first time in the ATL

The DW and I are headed to Huntington Beach SP in Murrell's Inlet, SC the week after Christmas. This will be our first camping visit there. It's only a 2.5 hour easy drive from the sticks & bricks. It can't get here fast enough!
