Kenosha Wisconsin Campgrounds

We are traveling to Kenosha Wisconsin this summer to watch our son play baseball. I am not turning up much for campgounds in or near Kenosha. Any ideas or recommendations? Thanks!

Have stayed at the Bong Sunrise campground a couple times. Nice place.
Link to Richard Bong State Recreation Area.

I'm not sure where in Kenosha you are playing baseball. The City of Kenosha is located in Kenosha County. I live 9 miles south of the Kenosha County line so I know the area.

Here are some options:
Happy Acres Kampground is in northwestern Kenosha County.
Richard Bong State Recreation Area is in northwestern Kenosha County.
Illinois Beach State Park is in northeastern Lake County, Illinois, just south of Kenosha.
Chain o' Lakes State Park is in northwestern Lake County, Illinois, just southwest of Kenosha.
Sanders Park Campground is in southeastern Racine County, just north of Kenosha.
Cliffside Park Campground is in northeastern Racine County, just north of Kenosha.

I have personally camped at Illinois Beach, Chain o' Lakes, and Cliffside within the last 5 years. I hope this helps.

While you are there, the City of Kenosha has some pretty nice museums you might want to check out.

Kenosha Public Museum
The Civil War Museum of the Upper Middle West Experience
Dinosaur Discovery Museum
Southport Light Station Museum

Have you tried the RV trip planner listed at the top of the page;
https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/wisconsin

Cliff Side shows 4.5 stars. I'm sure I have been to that park as it was 1 mile from my Aunt's old place. I have enjoyed the area.

Bong will be booked solid. Any WI state park is next to impossible to get into

Cliffside in Caledonia (Racine county) is excellent. It's only a few miles from where I live. We used to go there on spur of the moment weekday trips. I could still drive to work from there and we'd get to camp. Even on weekends you should be able to find a site. And it's not a far drive from Kenosha, you can take WI 31 to get there and avoid I-94.

Thank you! My son is playing for the Kenosha Kingfish this summer, so we would like to stay fairly close.
