Kerrville Texas- Schreiner Park

Just got back from 2 days at this city owned (formally a State Park) facility. It was very nice. Our spot was level and very well maintained. Going during Thanksgiving week was great as there were only 5 other campers in the entire place.

I had 2 issues. 1, they close 1/2-3/4 of the park for several weeks during deer hunting season, so we were limited on where we could go. 2, The site we had was along a busy roadway. Once you got used to the vehicle noise, it was all good. Restrooms were very clean and well maintained.

I would go back again without hesitation.

We tent camped there with our motorcycle about 14 years ago. It was a nice park then and well kept. That's a great area for riding. You can head out to Bandera, Medina and Camp Wood and see some beautiful Texas Hill Country.

As I recall from living in Texas in the 80s, there were two annual activities with which nothing was allowed to interfere: Friday night high school football and deer season.

We went there a couple months ago. Very nice park on a great part of the river. Clean park at a reasonable price, I will go back. We had to cut our trip short because DW was really pregnant, and it was hella hot that weekend. I agree with the comment about road noise, esp in the 30A loop on the river side of the park. Some of those spots are no more than 50 ft off the road. We stayed in that loop as far away from the road as we could get, and it was still loud. We also had a group of tent campers show up really late making a ruckus into the wee hours of the night, but our AC drowned out their shenanigans well enough that I didn't need to make any new friends....
