we love the newburgh ny city north koa. though it is getting too expensive to go frequently we still love this place. Its close to home, so we save money on gas, and alway have a good time, kids love it, its clean and safe. We have stayed in twin grove/pine grove KOA in PA..campground was clean as a whistle, and pool was beautiful staff were fantastic, and even had a small "canival" attatched, complete with ferris wheel etc, small extra fee for the "carnival" but worth it..only problem there was that the name IMPLIED they had trees. The few trees they had resembled cell towers and you could not tell where you site started and the road ended..was like a big gravel pit. we had to hang Beach towels around the awning and easy up to be out of the constant sun.

We have stayed at the KOA in grand island, NE. It is very clean. The people are very friendly. The little cafe they have makes great breakfast too!

Great KOA

We really enjoyed the great KOA in Durant,Okla. It is new, clean, and the staff are most helpful. It is next to Choctaw Casino with free shuttle service. We live in Texas, but have been several times and looking foward to going again this week-end. (Chris and Beverly)

They have always been expensive. But they do have some nice amenities usually a pool, game room, shop etc.
We stayed at several when I was a kid, all over the county, some great some not so great.
My dad used to BLOW up when he found out he had paid the high site fee then they had pay toilets and showers as well!!
As kids we didn't care about that!! They had a pool and pool table and ice cream on site!! Crawl under the doors, rig the showers...

We have reservations for our trip August and had to change our plans due to the Government shutdown in Minnesota, state parks closed. We are going to a Fed park on different dates.
We will be staying at North Maple north of Minneapolis. Let you know how it was!

I also remember staying in KOA's as a kid back in 69 with my folks..traveled from NY to AZ in a pop up camper...still not sure how they did that with 3 kids but we did it, I remember going into KOA's and it always seemed they were in the middle of a cornfield. thats about all i recall, but I was only 5.

Have stayed at the KOA Virginia Beach. You can ride your bikes to the beach on a trail or the shuttlebus (small fee) comes to the campground to pick you up for the beach. They have a jumping pillow, 2 pools, putt-putt.

Also KOA Harpers Ferry WV they also have a jumping pillow which the kids loved, pool onsite putt-putt gameroom.
Koa is a little expensive but we had a fun time.

We are finding that the KOA's are actually cheaper than the Provincial Parks in Ontario so that's why we've been going to them. I guess like any other campground, we've found that some are really nice and some are just ok.

Stayed at the KOA in Maple Grove Minnesota, northwest of Minneapolis.
The staff was super nice! Easy to get to, nice stores close.
The park could use some updates, the pool deck needed to be replaced, the shower house was serviceable but dated.

I know times are "tough" the place was full, people coming and going, a few passers through, like us, but most seemed local.
Spend a little $$ and get more people!
