Land Between The Lakes

Greetings Jayco owners !

Ready to go camping ?? We are thinking of Land between the Lakes and would like to know which campgrounds are good and which we should stay away from....It's snowing today in Illinois and ready to go NOW to a better climate so what a better way than make those camping plans! Thanks looking forward to hearing from you all.

I think we did the Hillman Ferry Campground. It was nice quiet and had full hookup. There also was an albino skunk.

Did you ever make the trip? We are heading that way in a couple of weeks and will probably stop at LBL so I would be interested to hear what you though of the cg's.

We have camped at LBL many times over the years. We usually camp at Hillman Ferry. But last year we camped at the Canal CG that is operated by the Army Corps of Engine. We like the fact it's close to Grand Rivers, home of an outstanding restaurant, Pattis' 1890 restaurant.

Hillman offers many lakeside sites with a couple of beaches for swimming and a boat dock for launching your water craft.

Here is a link to LBL CG's with pics and reservation info:

We stayed at the Piney and it was pretty nice. We had a full hookup site from what I can remember. We liked bike riding through the campground and checking out all the other trucks and RVs. We didn't see as much of LBL as we wanted though because of a lot of rainy weather while we were there.

Energy Lake Campground is very nice, we stayed there for about a week in 2012. My second choice would be to head to Paris Landing SP in Tennessee. There is nothing wrong with Piney or Hillman, we scoped those out while at Energy Lake...I just prefer the ones I listed better.

If you want to stay towards Paducah, checkout Duck Creek. Appears to be well maintained and attractive. Full hook-up and reasonable rates.
