Las Cruces NM Campground

Traveling out west in late December and looking at staying at Rv campground near or in Las Cruces for at least 1 night. Any suggestions for a campground?
In previous years I have stayed in campground near Elephant Butte.

I have taken a 5th wheel thru several time in previous years but never stayed near to LC.

Thanks

Last year we stayed at the Love’s new RV parking facility. It was great for just an overnight. Clean, safe and had a real nice fenced dog area. We were on our way from Arizona to San Antonio. Just used power and water, didn’t have to dump. We would stay there again if the need arises. About 4 miles West of I-10.

A few photos…we were the only RV there that day. It was an overnight stop, so we didn’t unhook.

If you're into boondocking, there is also Aguirre Springs just the other side of San Augustin Pass from Las Cruces. I'll caution that it's almost a mile above sea level, and it can get quite chilly at night this time of year. Not a problem if you have propane on board.

I am not a fan of KOA in general but(!), the Las Cruces KOA is special. It is set above and overlooks Las Cruces. We stayed there for five days in Sept. during the full moon and it was just spectacular! We were in a "view" site, #13, and the view over the city was great day and night.

If you are a veteran and have access to White Sands Missile Range, they have a reasonably priced campground, both full hookups and electric only, reasonably priced. Right off HWY 70 and just outside of Las Cruces. They take a reservation 30 days out via telephone.

Also limit on size of RV 25 Foot max.

Camping near Las Cruces

You could stay at Leasburg Dam State Park. It’s about 16 miles north of Las Cruces on I-25. You’ll need to make a reservation on Reserveamerica.com
Hope this helps.
