Going the week of the fourth for the first time. Anyone been there? Anything I may need to know?

Never been, but my friend went 2 years ago. Its a new park, lots of nice features at the campground. Its a pain to actually get to the beach from there and a little pricey, so we haven't been yet. They liked it a lot, I'm sure you will too. They have a sandy beach area on Rehoboth Bay, they have at least one pool and I think they offer transportation to the beaches.

Like I said though, it can be a pain to actually get to the beaches from there, I'd expect at least 30-45 minutes drive to Reboboth and even longer to Bethany, depending upon traffic.

We were there last spring for a week. It's a little isolated and some sites can be a little tight with backing into.

Nice Pool and grounds are good as well. If your in the main area by the beach there is a gate you have to use a key card for upon every entry.

One road in and out which can get crowded, especially with the 4th. DE 1 and 113 will be a parking lot Friday night, Sat AM for certain.

If you like beer Dogfish brewery is close by.

The one thing I did not like was that you need to drive all the way around the water to get to the ocean. 40 minutes without traffic. Better to just stay on premise IMHO.

Not a lot of shade either so if you bring your own make sure it can be secure as it gets windy there.

Thanks for the responses! I'm guessing it's gonna be a lot like Castaways in OC. I was looking at a satellite view and the beaches do look like they're a haul from the resort..wow. Guess we won't be going to the ocean. lol. And it does look like it's gonna be a sunny stay..no trees at all. Hope my AC's up for it.
