Michigan camping

Anyone out there recomend a nice RV park about halfway between Mackinac and Muskegon? Luddington and Mears State parks are not available when I need. Anyone recomend any private owned parks? Usually book something between state parks for a laundry stop
Thanks everyone

While we've been all over Michigan, we stay mainly in State Parks, so can't help.

Have you tried campgroundreviews.com?

Have you checked the Manistee area they have some pretty nice campgrounds in that area, and there are some that are on lake Michigan.

Orchard Beach state park is a very nice campground, short walk to the beach on Lake Michigan and close to town to pick up what you may need. Just a little north of there near Frankfort is Sleeping Bear Dunes-Platte River Campground, this park is run by the National Park Service. There are numerous private owned campgrounds in the area but the State Parks are the ones closest to the lake. If you are looking for dates near the summer holidays these parks fill up months ahead, they are booking reservations out to mid July now.

I have not stayed Orchard Beach, but it looks like a pretty nice park. There is a small park in Ludington called Lakeview campsite, it is a small park I haven't been there in a couple years but it wasn't to bad from what I recall, I would go back there again. Here is the link to that cg

If you are coming down 31 then just north of Manistee is Campvilla. The place with the yellow dinosaur. Laundry, propane, store on site and only $30 for FHU. We love the place but don't really want everyone filling it up.

You could also stop in Scottville Riverside Park. Only 8 miles from Ludington on US10 and they also have a laundry on site.

Silver Lake state park in Silver Lake, If not there is a couple large full service campgrounds in town as well. Spend a day and see the sand dunes or rent a jeep or dune buggy and drive them.

We camped at one of the private campgrounds at silver lake a couple of years ago. Good place to visit, especially the tourist trap souvenir joints.

We loved Hill & Hollow campground in Pentwater. Lots of trees and great amenities.
